The Boston Yacht Club is the oldest yacht club in New England, the second oldest on the East Coast and third oldest in the United States. It was launched September 19, 1866 at 14 Tremont St, Boston. On March 12, 1956, the Club purchased the property at 1 Front Street, Marblehead, known as the Ship’s Cabin, which houses the current Clubhouse. The BYC has a tradition of creating and supporting some of the finest sailing events found anywhere on the East Coast of North America. Having the BYC as the first installation in the US still fills us with pride and is a testament to quality and longevity.
